If you enjoyed Manhattan or The Purple Rose of Cairo, you surely will like Midnight in Paris, the brand new movie directed by Woody Allen. As well as Manhattan and New York, Allen declares his love to Paris while he telling an amazing story of a contemporary writer and his meetings with the lost generation, a group of famous artists, musicians, authors, composers, w ithich live in Paris during the 1920 decade.
Owen Wilson is Gil, a screenplay writer, supposed to marry a rich girl, visiting Paris with his fiancee family. One night, he was walking alone by the city when a misterious, old, yellow car stopped and called him to a party. In this moment, Gil starts an amazing adventure that includes very famous people like Ernest Hemingway, Cole Porter, Gertrud Stein, Picasso, Salvador Dali and many others.
Drama, comedian, fantasy are present during the 94 minutes of the filme. In the cast, very special participations of Carla Bruni (as a museum guide) Kathy Bates (Gertrude S tein), Marion Cottilard (Adriana), Adrien Brody (Salvador Dali). In Mahattan, the music of Gershwin is heard all the time. The soundtrack of Midnight in Paris includes specially Cole Porter. Until this moment, this is the best movie of 2011 and everyone must see.

When I went to California, I visited some amazing places. One of them was Calico Ghost Town. It is a real ghost town in the middle of the Mojave Desert, California. This city was developed in the XIX century during a silver strike. Located at the side of towering King Mountain, the town was named for the variety of colors in the mountain that were “as purty as a gal’s calico skirt.”
Calico’s boom occured in 1881-1896. However, in the end of the silver strike, its buildings were abandoned and since 1904 it has become a ghost town. oday the historic silver mining town lives on as one of the few original Old West mining camps. One-third of Calico’s original structures still stand; the remaining buildings have been carefully reconstructed to capture the Old West spirit. Walk Main Street and experience the life of the townspeople; see the blacksmith shop, the old school house, and do a little gold panning of your own.
In 1951, Walter Knott, founder of Knott’s Berry Farm, purchased the town and began restoring it to its original condition referencing old photographs. In the late 1950s, a western garbed man with Custer whiskers known as Calico Fred was a local fixture. Though five of the original town buildings exist today, many others were recreated as replicas of their originals on preexisting foundations. In 1966, Knott donated the town to San Bernardino County, and Calico became a county regional park.

When we say crash, we usually mean a car accident. Crash, the film debut of Paul Haggis direction, speaking precisely of conflicts among human beings. These conflict are mostly because the prejudice different professions, ethnicities, religions, races, training, in big cities. Stories that intertwine as parachoques in some moments, but then disengage and each follows its course. Some mourn their dead, others say the beloved “I love you”, some embraced their children, others mourn their lives.
Paul Haggis, screenwriter of success, author, among other things, the roadmap of the Golden Girl, winner of the Oscar this year, got the idea for this movie in 1991 when they stole his car in Los Angeles. The loss, the involvement with police, authorities, etc., has made him reflect on life in big cities, the power of organizations such as TV, cinema, business and especially justice, health system and police and reach the conclusion that just postures “politically correct” give rise to prejudice.
And people who have never seen before in the way victims of racist and discriminatory thinking of others. Blond hair, thin, some kind of gray in her eyes, Dido has a name of a queen. But her name is not this. Florian Cloud Bounevialle O’Malley Armstrong is the real name of this singer, born in the Christmas Day in 1971 in London, now a days one of the top of list in the hit parades. She has alread sold more than 25 millions of CDs worldwide. Her mother is a french poet and her father an irish publisher and her eldest brother is the record producer Rollo.
Dido was educated at Thornhill Primary, Dallington, City of London Girls’ and Westminster School. After she stole a recorder from school at age five, her parents enrolled her at the Guildhall School of Music in London, England. By the time she reached her teens Dido had learned to play the piano, recorder and the violin. She later studied law at Birkbeck, University of London, while working as a literary agent. She never completed the degree, deciding instead to take up music full-time. After learning the guitar, she showcased her skills to audiences during her 2004 Life for Rent tour.n 1995, Dido began recording demo tracks which were put together on a collection entitled Odds & Ends and sent out by Nettwerk management.
Nettwerk had signed her after she was brought to their attention by her collaborations with Faithless (Dido co-wrote and provided vocals for album tracks, such as “Flowerstand Man” and “Hem of His Garment”) and the UK dance act spearheaded by her brother, Rollo Armstrong. The collection was released by Nettwerk on CD-R acetate in 1995 and featured a mixture of finished productions and demo versions which she later considered for release on her debut album, released in 1999 as No Angel. Odds & Ends brought her to the attention of Arista Records, who signed her in the USA, striking a deal with her brother’s record label, Cheeky Records, to co-sign her. Of the tracks included on Odds & Ends, “Take My Hand” was included on all editions of No Angel as a bonus track; “Sweet Eyed Baby” was remixed and renamed to “Don’t Think of Me”, while “Worthless” and “Me” were released exclusively on the Japanese edition.
Dido started recording her fourth album just months after releasing her third album Safe Trip Home, which lacked the heavy promotion of her previous two albums. Dido stated in July 2009 that her fourth album, still untitled, will have an electronic approach, which is totally different to the organic direction she took with the previous album.
Upon the release of No Angel in 1999, after a long time promoting the album, Dido broke up with her fiancé, entertainment lawyer Bob Page, after a seven-year relationship.While she has described her departure from him as her becoming “a free agent in every sense”, the two remain friends. A few songs on her No Angel album were written with him in mind (”Thank You” was written about missing him), and she thanked him publicly upon winning the Songwriter of the Year award at the Ivor Novello Awards, adding, “The song ‘Thank You’ still sums up that relationship. Being single might make my album more psycho this time”
